Atlantic City police officers responded to a 911 call at Kentucky and Atlantic avenues about 1 a.m. on Sunday and found Anthony Crews of Chesilhurst with multiple gunshot wounds, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said.
Police and EMTs tried to revive Crews, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. An autopsy by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death as gun shot wounds.
This is an active ongoing investigation by the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.
Tyner did not release any details about possible suspects or motive in the shooting.
